    Antenna Install Instructions??

The radio works as expected with the magnetic base antenna. However there are no instructions for the mounting of the phantom antenna.
The 3/8 stud is too long for just a sheet metal roof. Start with a 3/8” hole. Remove the paint around the hole on the underneath side of the mount. You will need to add a stainless steel washer and/or a star washer under the sheet metal. At least the star washer to ensure a good ground. Discard the nylon stepped washer (used for brackets with 5/8 hole). From the topside, screw the base onto the stud. The antenna should now screw on and seal off against the sheet metal roof.

MXT115AGVP3 Farm Tractor Bundle Excellent value

I bought this for my UTV to upgrade power from an older MTX 105 5 watt to the 15 watt. Everything is excellent quality. Everything is included. Excellent antenna and coax and mounts. We talk 8 miles in hills and canyons and miles to the handhelds (which other UTVs in our group have.) We put an MTX micro mobile radio in the front of the UTV pack and 1 in the rear because we can reliably talk for miles. I installed the 5 watt in my truck. That works great travelling with campers and motorhome caravans. Be sure to install coax with NO tight coiling of coax! Do research on proper installation, and you will be super happy with RX and TX results!

Solved Comms Issue on the Farm

I purchased 4 of these bundles to try out on our 3200 acre farm. Got one for the combine, two in tractors, and one in the semi. They are super compact and simple to install. There's no programming or anything required. We just turn to channel 18 and start talking! We're about 11 miles from the grain elevator and are able to communicate from the farm to there. We mostly use the radios for combine to grain cart communication. I plan on buying 4 more in the near future to fully outfit our operation.

    Phasing out my CB's

Been a CB guy for close to 20 years with my Jeep groups. GMRS blows CB away, and I've been really impressed with the Midland products so far. I purchased a couple of the handheld units and was blown away at their range and clarity so I stepped my game up with this unit. We've got some land up in the mountains where cell phone service is entirely non-existent, and the Midland GMRS radios allows us to communicate with ease from just about anywhere we need to. I have this particular unit mounted in my 5th wheel, with the antenna mounted on top of the ladder to the roof. Was surprised with the "heft" of the unit as well. Was expecting some cheap plastic case, not here, nice metal (assuming aluminum?) case tells me this will stand up to years of use. I'll be ordering 3 more (probably the 275 model) to go in my Jeep, my wife's Jeep, and the tow rig. Also will be pleading with my wheeling buddies to get their GMRS license as well as these are WAY better than CB. I look at it as a good compromise between CB and Ham. Has some of the performance of Ham, without having to pass a test (I know it's not that hard) but the units themselves are much simpler and easier to get your buddies to switch over to. And did I mention how much better these are than CB? Just this weekend my wife and I were in the mountains and were too far out of range for our CB's to work from my truck to her Jeep, but our Midland handhelds worked great. Looking forward to having these in all my rigs and camper (plus the handhelds when we're out of the vehicles).

    Not satisfied with Customer Service

I bought your GMRS radio, whip antenna, and mounting bracket in August. I've found the radio reception adequate w/o the whip antenna. I contacted you via email twice within the past three weeks to inquire about how to return the whip antenna and mounting bracket. I've not had any response to my inquiry. I hope this review will provide incentive.

    Perfect farm radios

I bought two micro mobile packages and will be getting more for all of my farm equipment. The size is perfect for installation in tight areas and is very affordable.
